HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DR. SEUSS!

Today, March 2nd, is the birthday of the late Theodore Seuss Geisel (1904-1991), known to the world as "Dr. Seuss." The unique style in which he drew his characters and wrote his rhymes truly exemplify the definition of "creative." His contribution to children's literature is immeasurable and his talents and accomplishments are of great inspiration to me. The last book he wrote and illustrated is one of my favorite's - Oh, the Places You'll Go! Here's an exerpt:

You have brains in your head
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose
You're on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go.

You'll look up and down streets. Look 'em over with care.
And about some you will say, "I don't choose to go there."
With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet,
you're too smart to go down any not-so-good street.
